About
My name is Katharina Pommerien, born in October 1983 in Uelzen, Germany. I finished my in-firm training as a digital media designer after I have been visiting a full-time vocational school for a year, and another two years working at a screen-printing shop. There I stayed 5 months after completing my apprenticeship. My duties and responsibilities involved handling of large format printers, the creation of lithographs as well as the creation and production of different labels, like, for instance, car advertising and signs.
For another five months I have been working part time for two days per week at a copy shop. As in my apprenticeship, I was using multiple layout and design software solutions, as well as image editing tools. Among these tools are Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and (at this time) Macromedia Freehand, as well as Corel Draw. The Microsoft Office suite was used to complete various in-house tasks.
In August 2005, I completed my polytechnic qualification, and in August 2006 I moved to Ireland. Until August 2007, I was employed as a Technical Support Analyst (1st Level) for a multinational company. The duties involved support of Lotus Notes, Microsoft Outlook, and connectivity issues, as well as providing support for an internal connectivity tool to log in to the company’s intranet externally.
From August 2007 on, I was working as a 1st level coach for the same company, and as in addition to answering questions from the 60+ agents about the programs mentioned above, I was also involved in the training process for new-hires, preparing and holding the weekly team-meeting with the whole team, monitoring case quality on a weekly basis and giving feedback to the agents in 1-to-1 meetings, implementing new processes and technologies and discussing the performance of the agents with the team leaders.
In August 2008 I changed companies and was working as an Auditor for a security software company. I read contracts, more contracts and a few more contracts. I counted ownerships, usage and compared these numbers with what the contracts said.
Im dropping in a bit more personal info here: In September 2009, I went back to Germany. I spent 3 years in Dublin, and I loved every single day there. However, I’m not made to stay abroad forever. It was a great experience and I wouldn’t want to miss it, but it was time to go back. My family, my friends (and my sanity ;D ) are just too important for me to stay away from them to long.
So, back to business - I was settling in for a month or two and started working in a IT company as a Technical Support agent again. I see a pattern emerging… -.-
